..down along Dingle Dell

I loved the name for this area; doesn't it just roll off your tongue so nicely?  Right alongside the Gloucester River; the backdrop to the holiday park that the birding group had stayed at for several nights.

Never got to see a platypus though.  What is a yabby? - an Australian freshwater crayfish.

Now at the opposite end, set out for the campers, named  "The Becks" - walking down the path to

all these small river pebbles to carefully walk across, to where I had taken some photos and shared already of the grey-fantail in this post.  So now I'll share a few more...

and there was this female (or juvenile male), Superb Fairy-wren making the most of the morning sunshine too

Beautiful shots Carole, and i love that name Dingle dell, and also that sign that says that Yabby traps are forbidden. What is a yabby trap? Very nice, and what a great shot you got of the spider web!

thanks to each of you for your lovely comments. Jeanne, a yabby is freshwater Australian cray-fish (small generally), 'traps' to trap them for eating.

I love the light in the second image - that perfect morning light!!
And the fairy wren in the last image, where I can see the texture of its feathers - longer and lacier than the birds here, where it gets so much colder!!

All of your blog posts are amazing! Love the spider web and also the sweet little bird you have "captured" photographically! Can't say captured on film any longer, ha!
The bright colors of the foliage area so beautiful too! Wish I was there to see in person...seeing your photos is the next best thing!
hugs,
Laura
