Vintage 1928, A model Ford

92 klms away from Dubbo (country) city now; I stopped for a break and a bite to eat at Dunedoo, it was lunch-time.  How often do you get to see one of these?  Asked the couple sitting nearby in the park if they'd mind me taking photos, and of course that's the only way I knew what it was!  It quite looked the part parked there with the stores opposite, and the sandwich/cake-shop dated 1925.

Victorian number-plate; they'd travelled from Ballarat, just over 1,000 klms away, and were destined for Mt. Isa in Queensland; only 2,066 klms up the road.  No 'roof' of any kind and I imagined them driving along in the rain with the woman holding up an umbrella over her hubby's head.  Top speed 60 kph, which is pretty good considering; if I could  move along like a gazelle at 84 I'd be real pleased with myself too.

that is awesome, that it is that 'mint' and yet still roadworthy and capable of real travel! :)

haha! That is just way too cool! It reminds of something out of Indiana Jones. Could you imagine traveling in a car like that? I love it!

Fun shots. Isn't it great that we can be antipodes apart, and still share photos!

Cheers!

Wow firstly I cant believe you get such great photos from your point and shoot. Secondly that must be some journey for that yellow machine to travel so far in such limited comfort. good on them

My hubby would be right onto that photo opportunity too Carole, he loves 'vintage tin'! I wouldn't want to be driving it in Qld with all the rain they've had lately though!
