Paper Craft: Paper Cutting or Scherenschnitte

Here's my inaugural post to a blog space, and since various Paper Crafts are a part of my life and creative journey, I'll share three of my first cut-outs.

Found on Lisa Roberts Little Acorn blog, a sweet Squirrel Valentine tutorial. For my attempt at Lisa's pattern I used a coppery metallic paper for the cut-out and glued it down onto textured Japanese black momi paper before finishing as a card with black Bazzill cardstock.

Another tutorial for Bushy Tailed Squirrels is here. My version using textured white paper for the cut-out, layered onto gold metallic paper. This design completed as a card then on black Bazzill cardstock.

This Heron Pond design appealed to the nature-lover side of me too and there are many beautiful designs available on Ellen Brown's site. I've used a slightly textured white paper for the cut-out, sprayed with aerosol glue when complete and set onto black Bazzill cardstock.

Thanks to people like Lisa and Ellen who are happy to share their patterns. Finding little treasures like this can inspire many to try something new. It's what makes the world go round.
